Rice Cereal....The verdict is still out!

We gave Mac rice cereal for the first time tonight! I know I am behind the curve on this but our doctor told us to hold off as long as possible on giving him solid food only b/c once you give it to him you have to always give it to him. He told us to start around 5-5 1/2 weeks and since I'm a rule follower that is exactly what I did! He didn't hate it but he didn't love it either!

This was right before...he looks pretty excited!

I had to take a picture of the nasty stuff along with his silver spoon...it has his name on it :)
First bite.....
Second bite....
Hmmm...not real sure what to think.....
Let's pause for a minute for a photo with Mom....I look HEINOUS but I had to document this moment!
Grant's looks much better....hate him.
Still not sure what to think about!
I'm pretty sure we had more fun than he did! I'm hoping tomorrow he will lean more towards the loving it side than he did tonight! This kid has to love to eat...he is my son!!!

We're the two best friends that anyone could have...

I feel sorry for these two....I really do. I hope they like each other, if not they have a long life ahead of them.

Carter was tired of hanging out with the baby :)

Oh and for the record...YES this will show up in if not both at least one rehearsal dinner video.
I love these boys!

20, 21, 5 months and 23 weeks...oh my

It's been almost a month - I'm ashamed and I don't have a good excuse other than the fact that I work and I'm tired.

Mac is growing like a weed (I hate saying just for the record) and his little personality is really starting to shine! He laughs and smiles all the time and for the most part is a very happy baby! Just for my documentation b/c I'm sure no one really cares how much he eats but he is eating 5 times a day. When he takes a bottle it is about 6 ounces so all in all I'm guessing anywhere between 30-35 ounces a day.

His hair is getting thicker and redder everyday...I love it....I mean I really, really love it! I saw on the news that sperm banks are no longer accepting redhead deposits b/c redheaded babies are not in high demand. That is ridiculous....have you seen my redheaded baby??? Who wouldn't want one??? Crazy people. Someone said that only 1% of the population has red hair...someone else made the comment that I have 1/2 of them in my house :)

So here are some pics...out of order but that is blogger's fault...I'm not happy with them.

Seriously....who wouldn't want a redhead baby??? Look at his little guy...geez people :)
So what if i will have to lather him in SPF 100 for the rest of his life!
I love redheads and I'm proud of it!!!
It's crazy (I say it every time..get over it) how quickly he is growing up. I can tell a huge difference between the 20 week and 23 week picture. In 18 days MY BABY will be 6 months but I can't think about that right now.
I am going to get better about updating this thing, I'm shooting for weekly. Kimmie I need you to hold me to this :)

Labor Day = lots of firsts for Mac

Mac had a fun filled labor day weekend!!  Saturday he got to experience his first game day!  Grant had his FL jersey all ready to go in time for kickoff.  Mac didn't watch much of the game b/c it started after his bed time but the Gators won so maybe Mac will be our lucky charm this year!

He is one handsome Gator fan!

I love the way he is looking at Albert in this picture!

Sunday we hung out around the house and relaxed because we all had a big morning the next day!  On Monday Mac participated in his first 10K!  The Chiles Family got up at the crack of dawn to run in the Big Peach Sizzler.  We ran this race two years ago and it was a lot of fun.  Grant was the lucky one and pushed the stroller.  He ran the race in 55:46, I finished in 1hr 6 mins.  Yes...I'm out of shape....Yes my husband beat me by over 11 minutes all while pushing our son in a stroller.....Yes I had a C-Section a little over 4 months ago.....that should sum it up.

As you can see from the pictures it was not a pretty day.  It rained almost the entire time.  Mac was lucky, he was completely covered and after the first 1.5 slept the entire time.  I on the other hand was pounded in the face by rain all while feeling like I could die on the side of Peachtree.

Grant was very proud.  He was the only one out there with a stroller and everyone complimented him!

Ingore my smile and just my overall heinous appearance.  It was a rough race for this mama but I'm getting back into it!

Family shot - the man I asked to take this picture was just sitting in his minivan..shoeless.  I don't blame him, my shoes were soaked!

After the race we went to breakfast at the Flying Biscuit and it was delish!  We always go and have a good breakfast after races.  One might say I only run them so I can eat the breakfast ;)

I was sad to go back to work on Tuesday but at least it's a short week!

Macster Update

I can't believe it has been 3 weeks since I last posted! We have been busy, busy, BUSY!!! Mac has really started to show his personality!  He is a really happy boy most of the time but isn't afraid to let you know when he is not happy!!!  He is growing and changing everyday it's hard to keep up!  Mac went in for his 4 month visit Aug 23rd!  He got another round of shots :( This go around he had a harder time than the first round.  He ran a low grade fever, was very clingy (which this mama didn't mind) and fussy.  I felt so bad for him but by the next morning he was his normal happy self!  Here are his 4 month stats!

14lbs 6.6ozs
24 1/2 inches long
15 3/4 head

And just for comparison here are his 2 month stats
10 lbs 12ozs
22 3/4 inches long
Head cir - 15

He is a growing boy!!!  He eats five 6oz bottles a day and goes to bed around 730/8 and sleeps until we wake him up at 6am!

Today he celebrated 20 weeks. I was going to upload the 20 week picture to put in this post but realized that the camera is in his room...and he is asleep so it will have to wait!

SLACKER!

I have been a giant slacker! I apologize for the lack of posts but I started back to work a month ago....is that a good excuse? Going back to work is whole another post which I'm sure not many people want to read so I will just move right along and provide some updates of our little man!

Mac will be 17 weeks tomorrow and the big 4 months this Saturday....it is really hard to believe! He has grown so much in the last few weeks! He is on the verge of rolling over from his tummy to his back! He doesn't really have any interest to move if he is on his back so I'm guessing the hate he feels for being on his tummy is helping move him along on this whole rolling over business!

I find myself saying almost everyday "look Grant" b/c everyday he is doing something new! I am obsessed with this little boy - there I said it. My name is Chris and I'm addicted to my son...judge all you want I can't shake it!!

Let's catch up with some weekly photos of my handsome boy!

14 weeks - this was the only picture without his hands in his mouth...he loves them!

He is so long!

15 weeks - I'm pretty sure right before I took this picture he said "look Mom I can fit my entire hand in my mouth"...did I mention he LOVES his hands!

16 weeks - I love this little outfit in this picture...can you see his hand moving to his mouth?

I have a picture post coming up TODAY and I am going to update again tomorrow with his 17 week update!!
