Quick 21 Week Update!

This past Tuesday Randy turned 21 weeks ;) Yes, Randy not ________ b/c we STILL have not decided on a name. No fear this child will have a name by Christmas, nothing like putting a deadline on an important decision to kick our butts in gear!

Here is the pic of the week -

I promise I will have a better post tomorrow! We have a Toys 4 Tots dinner tonight and HOPEFULLY I will have some nursery furniture pictures to share ;)

1/2 Way there - Happy 20 weeks Randy!!!

Tuesday marked my 20th week! I can hardly believe that we are ½ way through this pregnancy! It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago (Aug 14th to be exact) when I saw the word PREGNANT on that digital test! I know that I’m not in the thick of this experience yet but so far I have really enjoyed being pregnant. It is crazy to think how fast these first 20 week have flown by and it makes me excited to think that in 20 weeks give or take we get to meet our sweet boy!!! Who still does not have a name!!! Don’t worry we are getting close and I’m looking forward to the big announcement.

Here is my weekly picture of Randy – he is really growing!!!!

Yesterday we had our big 20 week appointment where they do the anatomy scan. Everything looked great and Randy is growing just like he should. I also had the tech check to make sure he was still a he, you know just to be 100% sure! He was moving around and was very cooperative! Here is a picture of a picture of one of his ultrasound takes. I couldn't figure out to turn the picture but you can see his head with his little hand up by his face! He is one handsome fella!

We have a fun weekend planned with a wedding and hopefully ordering some nursery furniture...okay so maybe fun is in the eye of the beholder! I'm ready to get the nursery going!

Okay two post in one day is enough for me.

My bestfriend is having/had a baby!!!!!

One of my besties is having a baby- correction had a baby. I had full intentions of posting about this on Monday but as usual I'm late! Oh well I will give a recap. On Monday CA (below in her awesome Halloween outfit) went into the hospital to start the induction process.

I won’t go into to detail that is her story to tell but she went in Monday morning and ending up having a C section Tuesday night. I stopped by on Monday excited that we were going to meet baby Wright soon!! I must say CA was a TROOPER!!!! She was extremely calm and collected, the two things I hope I can be when my turn comes around but somehow I doubt that will be the case!!! Not much happened while I was there but as I was leaving around 8pm the contractions started to hit! After a FULL day of labor they decided Tuesday night that it was best to do a C Section and the world was FINALLY introduced to MR. CARTER ROLLINS WRIGHT!!! B/c she had her C section Tuesday night I did not get my hands on the little guy until Wednesday but it was so worth the wait. He is hands down one of the cutest babies I have ever seen.

This is the picture from Monday night - look how relaxed she looks. Drug free ;)

Can't forget her baby's daddy, he looks pretty relaxed as well! Drug free I think ;)

Mr. Carter Rollins Wright! We did not know the name of this little boy until Tuesday and I must say they did not disappoint! Doesn't his monogram, CWR, make your heart happy?? If not then his little face will def make your heart giddy!

Proud Uncle Grant!!

He is so tiny and such a sweet baby! I can't wait to see him again tonight!

Congratulations Carrie Ann and Jamie!!!!

Did you move Randy???

If you read last night's post (I know two post in less than 24 hrs...CRAZY) I mentioned that I have yet to feel any sort of flutters or movement from good ole Randy. Well this morning I THINK I got my wish. Randy and I chat a good bit on my way to and from work. I mean the kid has ears now so I try to teach him all the wonderful things that I know. Unfortunately the only things he has probably learned are Mama gets mad when people drive slow in the fast lane and a few curse words. I'm working on it....promise! Anyways this morning I was listening to the Avett Brothers CD and I am almost certain during Kick Drum I felt something!!! I'm not surprised our son already has excellent taste in music ;) For those of you who are not familiar with the song I've posted it below.

I also have to share that I finally bought something for Randy! This is the first thing that I have actually purchased myself since we found out that I was pregnant. I thought these were too cute to pass up!

Enough for now! Have a great day!

Lots to catch up on

To my 5 readers I apologize that I left you hanging in my last post! I promise in this post you will get Randy's 18 and 19 week update as well as the gender! So here we go...

Happy 18 weeks Randy -

Because this was two weeks ago I really don't remember much about this week. That might have something to do with the fact that I didn't feel or look any different than I did at week 17. However, this was the week we found out if Randy was a he or she!! It was a relief to see a healthy and very shy baby on the ultrasound screen. Once the tech got what she needed to confirm Randy's gender she changed angles to get a profile shot. At that point, our little bean had flipped over and buried it's face in it's hands! Hopefully Randy will be more cooperative at our 20 week appointment! Below is a picture of Randy at 18 weeks!!

Is Randy a boy or girl???

We told both sets of parents together the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Thank you Thanksgiving Holiday :) We gave each set a picture frame with the picture of the goods and stuffed a balloon in the bag. When they untied the bag the color of the balloon popped out and revealed the gender!

Now I am excited to finally announce that Randy is a........................................................................................................................

.......................................................................................................................................................................

.......................................................................................................................................................................

BOY!!!!

We had a feeling Randy was a boy only b/c when we went for our Ultrascan (not to be confused with an ultrasound) at 12 weeks they asked if we wanted a gender prediction. Of course we said yes, but knew that it would not be 100%. Now that we know what Randy is I'm constantly thinking of the nursery. We are heading out again this weekend to look at furniture!!! Wish us luck!

Last but not least Randy is 19 weeks TODAY!!! I haven't felt him move yet (so crazy to say him!), but I'm hoping soon!!! I'm still feeling great just getting excited/nervous about our 20 week appointment next week! It's hard to believe that we are almost 1/2 way through this pregnancy! Here is Randy at 19 weeks. I can really see a difference this week! Please ignore my scary expression, sometimes my fake smile gets a little out of control!

This was way too long but I should be all caught up! Next week will be out big 20 week post and hopefully I will have an update on the nursery situation!

BIG TIME SLACKER!

I am a horrible blogger but in my defense we have had a lot of things going on at the Chiles house! I have so much to catch up on! Like Randy's 18 week post, 5Ks, BUNKO, gender reveal and Thanksgiving!

I'll get started with the small stuff.

  • Last weekend a few of us for some strange reason decided to run a 5K at Chateau Elan. This was the hilliest race I have ever done. They advertise that you get to run through the vineyards which I'm sure would be beautiful any other time of the year but all we got to see were sticks. It didn't really motivate us!! However we pushed through and the pumpkin spice muffin at breakfast made it all worth it!

  • The next day I hosted our first BUNKO night at my house. This was so much fun! I meant to take pictures through out the night but it was a pretty intense game ;) I did get one group shot, unfortunately some of the girls had already left by then - sorry ladies! I hope we keep this up every month!

Okay, enough for now. I think Randy's 18 week and gender reveal deserves a separate post. Not to mention I have to get back to my Christmas decorating ;)

A 15K and Happy 17 weeks!

Wow - I had planned on updating this on Sunday but I decided to nap instead! I'm a little late but we had a great weekend! Saturday we got up EARLY (5am) and headed out for Grant's 15K trail run. It was a beautiful morning but very cold! I was the good wife and brought a book and a chair and waited for Grant to finish! He did great!! He finished in 1:26 I was so proud ;)

Here are a few pictures from the race.

The Start!

Grant and Rosie. Of course they were handing out Sweetwater - my mouth was watering!

Here is a picture of Grant in Action!

Grant and I after the race!

Afterwards we went to lunch and then both of us crashed on the couch - it was a long morning!!

Sunday we had Grant's parents, sister and bother in-law over for a birthday lunch in honor Rick! I will not mention how old he is ;) Once we finished lunch Grant and I headed out for the first of many nursery furniture shopping trips. It was a little overwhelming which is why I started early! I am excited to get something picked out, if we can ever agree ;)

Now lets talk about Randy! Randy is 17 weeks (and 1 day). S/he is the size of an onion I think. I read that I should be able feel movement soon. Just flutters no real kicks but so far nothing! Here is a belly shot at 17 weeks. I can defiantly tell that I've popped since last week!!

We have our big gender appointment next week!! I can't wait to find out if we have a Randy with a Y or a Randy with and I!

Happy 16 Weeks Randy!

I'm tired tonight so this will be short and sweet!

Here are Randy and I at 16 weeks. You can def tell there is something there. I'm excited to see what I will look like next week. We had a doc appointment today and everything looked good. Randy had a good strong heartbeat. I don't care how many times I hear it between now and April 26th it will never get old!! Kimmie, I hope the picture is far enough back and you can get a good look :)

Another exciting thing this week is we received our first Gator outfit. Katie and RJ gave us this cute Florida onesie and little booties! Of course we love them and I'm sure Randy will look fantastic in both!

In other news Grant has a 15K trail race this Saturday... one of only two races that he has done without me! Not that I would be interested in a 9 mile trail race, but I will be on hand to cheer him on and take lots of pictures! We are also starting the nursery furniture shopping this weekend. I'm trying to get a jump on this b/c I am HORRIBLE at making decisions. Hopefully I will have plenty of time. Wish us luck!!!

That was longer than I thought ;)

Happy 15 Weeks Randy (A day late)

I'll make this short and sweet - no one really cares about these belly pictures but my Mom and Grant's Mom so here you go - Randy at 15 weeks - I think I can start to see something ;)

If it looks like I just woke up it's because I did...no judging.

Rotten Randy and Happy Halloween!

Just a little background - I will be 15 weeks on Tuesday. We didn't tell our parents about Randy until I was 8 weeks and our friends until I was almost 13 weeks. Look at all of the loot that Randy has received in the short time that s/he's new has been unleashed! I wanted to take time (even though I already sent Thank You notes) to give a big THANK YOU. It really makes my heart feel all warm and fuzzy that people are just as excited as we are. I vote my friends/family the best and since it's my blog my vote is the only one that counts.
So just a quick list...

My Mom and Dad gave us the sock monkey and The Night Before Christmas book. I love, love, love the sock monkey and had told her before we were pregnant that when it was our turn I had to have one. Thanks for pulling through Mom!!! The cute Pumpkin outfit, bibs and Halloween plate came from my friend Stacey at work. The outfit is so soft I wish I could get in it myself. The Famous Sophie is a very sweet gift from Kimmie. She is probably one of the 3 people that reads this blog! The Redneck pacis are compliments of Jamie and Carrie Ann. Don't worry, Baby Wright is due in 6 weeks and I might have something up my sleeve. Carrie Ann also gave me some fabulous books and a Mom Calendar (she thinks I'm unorganized). They are not technically for Randy but I still had to mention them! The cute stickers in the back are from Misty. I've never seen them before but they are a fabulous idea! Stickers 0-12 and you can put them on onsies to take monthly pictures. Great idea!!! The toys and other pacis are from Rick and Eve (MIL & FIL). They gave us some other stuff as well but it is gender specific - we will find out soon if they were correct!!!

So again - thank you so much everyone!!! I can't imagine how rotten Randy will be once s/he gets here!!!

I'm passing out Halloween candy as I am sitting here updating the blog. So far I've had 4 trick or treaters - Buzz Light Year, a Butterfly and two others that I have no idea what they were b/c Grant was the one who answered the door. It reminds me how fun Halloween was a child...who am I kidding we went to a Halloween party this weekend and it was still fun to dress up!!! Grant, Katie and RJ and myself went as the Ghost Busters.

Yes, we had inflatable Proton packs and guns that were AMAZING!

I wasn't a very good picture taker, so I really only have action shots of some "games" but I did get this beauty...
You can't tell, but CA is pregnant....like for real. Her and Jamie came as a Shotgun wedding. I love the look and I'm impressed that she pulled it off!! Some other costumes to mention were a nurse, doctor, 2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Augusta National Caddies and Top Gun pilots. We had a lot of fun and although I didn't drink I am paying for it today...so tired!

Okay, I think this post has been long enough. Thank you if you actually read it all! Check back in on Tuesday for Randy's big 15 week reveal. I think you might be able to see a difference now ;).

Oh and I almost forgot - GO GATORS!!!! It was a stressful game I'm glad our boys pulled it out!!!

Happy 14 Weeks Randy and the Weekend!

Lets start off with the boring part of this post - the weekend. We had a very low key weekend and it was great! This is the first weekend in a long time that we haven't had any plans and we took advantage of it. Saturday afternoon we got out and actually went to a movie, first one in almost a year I might add! We saw The Town with Ben Affleck (yes please) and it was VERY good!!! I highly recommend it! Other than that we picked out pumpkins and I did a little fall decorating. Like I said... boring!

Today Randy is 14 weeks! This is the start of the second trimester, rumor is you're supposed to magically feel better and have all of your energy back. While I can say I do not feel sick anymore I am still tired but that is about it so I guess I can't complain. Here is a picture of me at 14 weeks try to ignore how I look and yes I'm rocking my kickball t-shirt.

Today s/he is the size of a lemon. I love how on the website they always compare your child to a piece of fruit. Anyways we have a big weekend planned - I hope everyone has a happy Halloween! Go Gators!

Happy 13 Weeks Randy!!

Before I start this post I should explain who Randy is...Randy is the baby. No we do not know if Randy is a boy or a girl and NO if Randy is a boy we are NOT naming him Randy (no disrespect to the Randys out there). Randy is the name my husband thought of one morning at breakfast with some friends. He just said it out loud and everyone laugh and it has stuck. So when I refer to Randy I'm talking about Baby Chiles.

Okay - moving on....

Wow - I can't believe it has already been 13 weeks. This pregnancy is flying by, with that said I know that some of my prego friends are cursing me and probably thinking I will be singing a different tune when I'm 30 weeks but for right now the first 13 flew by and to be honest I'm glad they are behind me! I was a nervous wreck from the minute I found out until last Thursday so it is nice to be able to sit back and enjoy this, at least until I find something else to stress about!!!

Another exciting thing this week is my Mom is here until Wednesday and when I came home from work last night she had dinner ready - rice and tomatoes my favorite!!

And finally here is a picture of me at 13 weeks - I don't think you can see much although my clothes would probably tell you something different!!! If you do see something I blame it on dinner or the fact that I had that before I got pregnant!

I'm excited to have one more week under my belt. Hopefully I can figure out how to upload our ultrasound pics soon!

22 months...

That is how long I have been waiting to start a blog so I can finally announce that we’re PREGNANT!!!!!

Baby Chiles is due April 26th, 2011!! To say we are excited is an understatement! I have blog stalked my friends and if I’m being honest random people as well, for years and swore when I got pregnant I would start one of my own. I never thought it would take this long but better late than never. I must admit I’m pretty excited about the blog and of course the baby!! Tomorrow will be 13 weeks and so far I have been feeling good, nothing worth complaining about yet!

My goal is to keep this blog updated on a regular basis so please check back, I'm sure there will be more exciting posts to come!
